Phiroz H. Madon

Phiroz Madon received his Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering from IIT, Bombay in 1977, and his Masters degree in Computer Science from Rutgers University in 1979. He joined the Special Systems division of Perkin Elmer Data Systems in 1979, where he worked on several systems design and software development projects. In 1985, he joined Telcordia Professional Services and was promoted to Director in 1989. Among his activities as Director were:

• Pioneering work on ATM Network and Operations.
• Software development Director on TIRKS, the largest provisioning and configuration management OS in the world.

From 1996 to the present, Phiroz has been Senior Scientist in Applied Research at Telcordia Technologies. Work includes:

• Currently developing configuration management and service activation system, in support of a satellite network NOCC.
• Software Advisory Panel for the Teledesic network.
• Architecture and proposal work for NOCC for a major US satellite network provider.
• Configuration management and service activation system for cable modem systems.
• Supported a large network provider client on architecture, requirements and software development of service activation, provisioning, and fault management OSs for ADSL.
• Developed CORBA-based distributed persistent objects platform for support of network topology databases.
• Work with multiple clients on Next Generation OS architectures.

Phiroz has received the Telcordia Software System's Recognition Award for his work on OSMINE, and the Award of Excellence for work on a Client-specific project.
