SHORT BIOGRAPHY:

 

Dr. Pratik K. Biswas is currently a Senior Scientist at Telcordia Research in New Jersey. Earlier, he has held senior technical/research as well as managerial positions at Avaya Inc./Avaya Labs, American Express, Lucent Technologies Inc./Bell Laboratories, AT&T Bell Laboratories/AT&T, IBM and Krupp Forschungsinstitut (Germany) among others. He has also been a senior research faculty at the Applied Research Laboratory (ARL) of the Pennsylvania State University (PSU) and an adjunct professor of Computer Science at the Stevens Institute of Technology in New Jersey. At PSU/ARL, he led and managed a DARPA-funded, Multi University (Pennsylvania State University, Duke University, University of Wisconsin-Madison, University of California at Los Angeles, Cornell University and Louisiana State University) Research Initiative (MURI) project, known as the Emergent Surveillance Plexus, on the surveillance capabilities of Sensor Networks. His current interests include Autonomic Computing, Sensor Networks, Information Fusion, Multicast Communication, Artificial Intelligence, Intelligent Agents, Distributed Systems, Software Architecture and Conceptual Modeling. Dr. Biswas received his M.S. and Ph.D. in Computer Science from Florida State University in 1988 and 1991 respectively.
