John-Luc Bakker
John-Luc Bakker holds an MSc degree in programming aspects of distributed and parallel computing from the Delft University of Technology (The Netherlands) since 1996.
Prior to his current position he worked with Lucent Technologies on component based service creation environments, advanced communication architectures, multimedia, and recent change code generation.
He has published several papers in these areas.
In December 2000 Bakker joined Telcordia as a research scientist and project manager in the Middleware and Mobile Applications Research Group.
He is currently Telcordia's delegate in the Open Mobile Alliance (OMA), 3GPP and Parlay; he participates and provides leadershipin standardization fora such as OMA, Parlay, Java APIs for Advanced Integrated Networks (JAIN) related Java Specification Requests, and 3GPP TSG CN WG5.
He is vice chair of 3GPP TSG CN WG5, for JAIN Service Creation Environment he is co-specification lead and for Parlay-X Web Services Working Group as well as Parlay Emergency Telecommunication Service Working Group he is co-working group leader.
His current focus is on Application Enabler Abstractions in the form of Mobile Application Servers, XML and Web Services-based service mediation.
