Telcordia is Specification lead for the key Expert Group defining a Java API for call control, the JAIN Java Call Control (JCC) specification (JSR 21), as well as providing a Reference Implementation (RI) and Test Compatibility Kit (TCK). Telcordia is Specification lead for the Expert Group defining a Java API for the MGCP protocol, a key protocol in NGN systems (JSR 23). Telcordia has been in charge of leading the definition of the specification, as well as providing a Reference Implementation (RI) and Test Compatibility Kit (TCK).
Telcordia is co-Specification lead (with Hughes Software Sysyems) for the Expert Group defining the Service Creation Environment (SCE) specification (JSR 100). This group started work in 1Q01.
Telcordia is Specification lead for the Expert Group defining a richer call control model, beyond JCC, that allows definition of advanced A/IN CS-2 services (JSR 122). This group started work in 2Q01.
Telcordia is Chair for the Working Group defining Parlay APIs to allow authorized users to obtain a high probability of completion for emergency calls during a crisis situation when public networks may be restricted due to atack, damage, congestion or faults.
Telcordia is co-chair (with BTexact Technologies) of the Working Group defining a simplified XML-based API that allows rapid creation of innovative applications, by programmers who are not necessarily telecommunications experts, using a higher layer of abstraction than the current Parlay APIs.
